S.C. Palmetto College enrolls first online students

South Carolina residents now can earn a University of South Carolina degree through the online programs of South Carolina Palmetto College.
USC officials and legislators announced that enrollment for Palmetto College is officially underway Thursday at a gathering of government officials, representatives from USC’s senior and regional campuses, and some first-enrolled students.

(Columbia, SC) – With a 110 to 0 vote today, the Higher Education Transparency Act of 2011 (H. 3185) passed the South Carolina House of Representatives. Pre-filed in December, the transparency measure was an early agenda item of the House Republican Caucus.

CoEE Program doubles state’s investment, creates 4,700 jobs
Today, members of the South Carolina Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE) Review Board delivered a holiday present to the General Assembly and the people of South Carolina: According to the latest program totals, the CoEE Program has resulted in $363 million in non-state investment into the South Carolina economy and created 4,717 new jobs.
